... until the battery dies and you have to pedal it.

!!! UNKNOWN HEADER TYPE (MULTI-LINE BREAK?) !!!

“We want to give people the chance to ride a bike with a design that stands out,” says [designer and builder] Xavier Chan.

Let’s see, it looks good and heavy, the relative positions of the seat and pedals won’t allow for proper leg extension while pedaling, and there’s a fake tank between your legs to muck up your leg to pedal alignment. My knees ache just looking at it.

I can’t wait to see the feedback from the first rider who finds himself on the road with a dead battery. I wonder if AAA covers bicycle towing.

We wanted to build an e-bike that was uncomfortable

Some AAA do offer bicycle towing I think. I’m pretty sure AAA of Texas used to offer it as a perk of higher-level membership, but it seems like they’ve stopped.

“Why an e-bike that looks like a cafe racer does not make a good beginners e-bike”

I like that they have no pictures with someone on the thing.

I know this is only semi-related, but I really wish the E-Bike name would die. They are not bikes. They are Mopeds, and they should not go where bikes go, they should stay on the street with the other motor driven vehicles.

For the hipster who wants to get their “cafe racer”, “I bike to work”, “I have an electric vehicle”, and “I only buy from small niche businesses” creds in one vehicle and don’t care how crappy it is at being a vehicle.

The stupidity here is astounding. big fake fuel tank which isn’t even used to hold the battery pack so you are wasting space perfectly sized to hold the battery pack. Terrible ergonomics for riding or bicycling. Heavy steel frame that reduces electric range and makes it harder to pedal. Zero adjustability to seat height ensuring bad riding posture for anyone who isn’t on particular inseam measurement. Shitty construction throughout (headlight brackets clearly for a wider fork tube, wiring zip-tied on, lower frame cut & welded instead of bent).

If someone had built this for themselves with off the shelf parts on a home-built frame I would have called it cool. As a company asking $3K for it, this is a sick joke on people with more money than brains.

They do, however, have video. Complete with dude in full-face helmet to hide his identity.

It’s here you can see how bad the ergonomics really are.

I never knew Clarks made hydraulic brakes, so I learned a new thing. And the M2 brakes I wouldn’t them premium...and I’d be sorry for the poor sap who has to bleed them. I think every electric bike needs 4 piston Saint hydraulic brakes as I have doubts about these brakes....

Tempus also says it’s built by hand in Canada...which means it was packaged there and built by the poor sap who build it. Oh yeah, there are different grades of chromoly steel...so you might not need the aircraft grade stuff.

The rotors on the pic already look burned and singed. Seriously?

There are also no specs on the shocks. Good to know when someone want to update them..hopefully they aren’t proprietary

26X2.5 wheels? so that means I can run fat bike tires....and the bike clearly has 26X2.5 Maxxis tires...not wheels. And why is there a braking surface milled on the rim when you could get cleaner non-v brake specific wheels built up? And if they are single wall rims....I could go on. Good luck if you snap a spoke.

This is overpriced. This is under specced for a 4 grand bike. This isn’t even worth it.

exactly this^. It was obviously designed by someone who doesn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground about bikes.

Fake tanks are never cool, nor good-looking. Nor any positive adjective you can think of.

And no they weren’t cool on your Schwinn back when you were 10 either.
